SCOPE
Since the first symposium on Ferroic Domains
that was held in Volgograd (Russia) in 1989, the scope of ISFD has
been enlarged to all types of mesoscopic structures and, more recently
to problems related with structural organisation at nanometric scales.
Such questions as static domain structures in crystals and ceramics, dynamics
of domain walls and switching phenomena, change of domain structures at
phase transitions, domains in thin films and size effects, nano-and mesoscopic
structures (including relaxors, glasses, and incommensurate phases), are
in the scope of the meeting. Besides, the research in this field has become
so important for applications which appeared in last years, that a specific
part is devoted to applications and techniques : aspects related
with FeRAMs and integrated ferroelectric films, high-k materials for microelectronics,
domain engineering and photonics, domains in piezoelectric materials, transducers,
sensors, actuators, and shape memory alloys, together with development
of techniques, will give rise to special sessions. Mention finally that
contributions on theory, interdisciplinary topics, and unifying aspects
are strongly encouraged.
(see also the sessions)
Authors will have the possibility to submit
a paper that will be referred in normal conditions for publication in a
special issue of Ferroelectrics.

GENERAL and TRAVEL
INFORMATION
The conference will be held near Toulon (between Marseille and Nice, South of France), in the peninsula of Giens (French Riviera), located at around 20 km from Toulon (map below). Lodging facilities are available in the same place for all participants. Only participants coming with a car may think to another place for lodging because other hotels are rather far from the meeting place.
There are two possibilities for reaching the meeting place :
from Toulon railways station
from Toulon airport (Hyeres)
(there will be shuttles to ISFD7 at these places)
1. Flight to Paris and
flight correspondance to Marseille airport or to Nice airport.
Then take a shuttle at the airport
to reach the railways station to go to Toulon.
2. Flight to Paris and train
correspondance to Toulon
From Paris airport, reach
"Gare de Lyon" (railways station to the south-east). There are several
"TGV" (high speed train) going to Toulon.
3. Flights to Toulon airport
(Hyeres)

Accomodation
Lodging facilities are given in the place of the meeting, the "GIENS VVF", a social holiday structure where special fares were negociated. Other hotels are generally too far away to be convenient.
Accomodation prices include breakfest and dinner.
Registration
The registration fee includes
lunch, coffee breaks, excursion, banquet, materials of the meeting, and
proceedings.
It does not include accomodation.
A banquet will be given on Wednesday
evening and an excursion by boat to the island of Porquerolles is planned
in the afternoon of the same day. Moreover accompanying persons will have
access to the different activities in the center (tennis, scuba diving
and nautic sports,...).

The deadline for sending registration
and accomodation forms is July, 15. It is even recommended to do
it before end of June.
Please take this important date
into account !

Deadline : 15, July !
|
Cancellation conditions : you recover the sum you paid : * -20% before August, 15 * -50 % before September, 1 * after we cannot guarantee
Papers may be submitted for publication in the journal Ferroelectrics. Please prepare manuscripts in electronic form (*), following strictly the instructions to authors.
The papers will be referred in the usual conditions of this journal.
Registered participants will also
receive the special issue of Ferroelectrics corresponding to ISFD7,
in a CD ROM, from which they may obtain reprints.
u Two copies of the manuscript must be provided the first day of the meeting, namely on 15th of September, together with the disket.
u The length of papers is not fixed strictly. We advise a maximum length of 6 pages.
u For
instructions to authors on how to prepare the manuscript : click
here !
(*) Please note
that Camera-Ready papers are no more accepted !
FINANCIAL HELPS :
We are waiting for the answers of all possible sponsors before replying to the applications for financial support that have been sent to us. The situation will be unfortunately known rather late, about June or July. We shall probably not be able to reply before.
We nevertheless encourage the
applications of young scientists since the EUROPEAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY has
already informed us that ISFD7 would get a sponsorship. Moreover we hope
to have a positive answer from the European Community.

GENERAL CHAIR :
SCIENTIFIC SECRETARY :
SPONSORS
MRT, MAE, CNRS (Depts SC and SPM), GORDON&BREACH,
THE EUROPEAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY, University of Marseille U1,
University of Toulon-Var and UTV TechPol

Exponents : Jobin-Yvon, Radiant
The list of sponsors will be updated regularly and will appear in the abstract book of the meeting.
If you want to sponsor us, please contact the chairman or the scientific secretary. There are several solutions, including the possibility to have a demonstration stand at the meeting, and to advertise your firm (send your logo to advertise your firm in the documents of the meeting).
We may propose at least two solutions :
- a stand with demonstration and documentation
during the whole length of the meeting. The cost (including accomodation
and living expenses of one person) is 1500 euros.
- documentation in the form of posters during
the meeting and within the documents of the meeting (internet site, proceedings,
etc), with the presence of your logo and address in the list of sponsors.
Cost : 750 euros.
